It was an absolutely fantastic 2 weeks we spent back in Kuala Lumpur, being able to take our daughters to where their mother – my wife – is from and where we used to live prior to having children. I’d bought my new Olympus OM-D EM10 MK II two weeks beforehand so this was it’s first major job and it performed amazingly, especially considering the many varied situations we were in – bright sunny days through to very dark nights. The only constant was the humidity and the sweaty days it makes for! I’ve always believed Malaysia is really under rated as a holiday destination as its truly a fantastic place where some amazing natural beauty, culture, people and food all combine. No matter what time of day it is, from early mornings to late nights, KL has a lot to offer anyone especially a photographer looking for some vibrant shots of things they could never imagine seeing, hearing and smelling back home. It really is a treat for the senses! Also after previously having to carry a DSLR, this was never going to be practical with two young children also coming along for their first overseas trip, so the portability of my camera equipment really did make our holiday a lot easier. It’s also been fantastic to be able to look back at these photos and the memories they help to preserve, especially for those places my wife and I used to go to back before we had kids, to be able to now take our children to such places was fantastic and made our holiday even more special. Really stoked with it all and can’t wait to head back yet again!
